Ministry of Health and Sanitation's Ebola outbreak update:

 As of today, 2nd August 2014, we have 143 cumulative number of survivors, 540 confirmed Ebola cases and 198Ebola confirmed deaths.
74 patients are currently admitted at the Ebola treatment centers in Kenema and Kailahun.

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) established at the World Health Organization Country Office in Freetown and Chaired by the Minister of Health and Sanitation, Miatta Kargbo, with Dr. Jacob Mufunda (WHO) country Representative as co-chair continues to scale up in its response by today confirming the arrival of 3,500 PPEs from WHO in addition to 1,470 PPE supplied by WHO earlier.

The EOC also sent five additional vehicles to Kenema and Kailahun this morning to strengthen the teams in those districts in contact tracing and surveillance. A plane arrived today with logistics from the International Red Cross; they include equipment to construct two treatment centers, PPEs, etc. The EOC will decide the location for these two additional treatment centers. Staff from Public Health England and Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the United States of America have arrived in country to build capacity and assist in managing the disease; six additional staff are expected from CDC on Wednesday
