Ebola outbreak update:As of today, 7 August
2014, we have a total of163patients who havesurvived Ebola Virus Disease and
subsequently discharged.
The total number of new confirmed cases is 15, Kenema
4, Kailahun 4, Western Area 1, Bo 2 and Port Loko 4. The total cumulative
number confirmed death is 223. The total number of cumulative confirmed cases
is 631 with Kailahun 365, Kenema 214; Kono 1; Kambia 1; Bombali 5; Tonkolili 1;
Port Loko 13; Pujehun 2; Bo 17; Moyamba 4; Bonthe 1; Western Area Urban 7. As of
today, Koinadugu district is the only district that has not registered
confirmed cases of Ebola in Sierra Leone.
The cumulative number of probable cases is
38 and probable deaths 34 while the total cumulative number of suspected cases
is 48 and suspected death is 5.
The House of Parliament today ratified the
President’s proclamation of the State of Public Emergency to deal with the
Ebola Virus Disease in Sierra Leone.
The EOC wishes to remind the public that
avoiding contacts and regular hand washing with are among ways we can minimize
the spread of the disease.
