SIERRA LEONEAN APPOINTED TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL BOARD MEMBER

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) wishes to announce the appointment of          Mr. Emile Carr, former chairman, National Anti-Corruption Strategy Steering Committee, to the Transparency International (TI) Board. TI is a global institution leading the fight against corruption and renowned for its Corruption Perception Index Reports.
On behalf of the Advisory Board, Management, Staff, and the People of Sierra Leone, we congratulate Mr. Carr on this enviable appointment. 
Speaking to the ACC, Mr. Carr stated that “corruption is avoidable” and pointed further that “Corruption destroys a nation and brings poverty to its citizenry.” 
The appointment of Mr. Carr is in recognition of his credentials and importantly also the positives strides Sierra Leone has made in the fight against corruption.
Meanwhile, it has pleased His Excellency, President Ernest Bai Koroma, to nominate the ACC Commissioner, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, as Sierra Leone’s representative to the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption.
