  IMPORTANT NOTE
The newly approved District and Regional Coordinators by His Excellency the President, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma of the now National Ebola Response Centre (NERC) were today, briefed in an orientation at the Barmoi Hotel on their roles and responsibilities. The orientation ceremony was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of NERC, Rtd. Major Alfred Paola Conteh, the National Operations Coordinator; Mr Steven Gaojia, the Ebola Crisis Manager for the United Nations Mission on Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) in Sierra Leone; Mr Amadu Kamara, the WHO, DFID,CDC among other key partners and officials from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation led by the Minister, Dr Abu Bakar Fofanah

The NERC leadership also received 20 ambulances and 10 burial vehicles at the Military headquarters at Cockerill, which are the first consignment of 74 vehicles to be procured by the World Food Programme (WFP) on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone with funds provided by the World Bank in a tune of about 3.5 million United States dollars. 44 additional vehicles are expected in Sierra Leone within two to three weeks, according to the WFP.
