WEDNESDAY JULY 23, 2014 – The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) is concerned about the escalating trend of the Ebola virus in the country.

Ebola outbreak update:  As of today, 23rd July 2014, we have 108 cumulative number of survivors, 427 confirmed Ebola cases and 144 Ebola confirmed deaths. 65 patients are currently admitted at the Ebola treatment centers in Kenema and Kailahun.

President Koroma Calls on WHO to Join the Fight against Ebola

President Ernest Bai Koroma has on Wednesday 23rd July 2014 called on the World Health Organization (WHO), regional Director for Africa, Dr. Luis Gomes Sambo and his organization to join the fight against the deadly Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone.

President Koroma Issues Stern Warning on National Tree Planting Day

President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has planted the first tree on the 2014 National Tree Planting Day. Launching the ceremony on the new Regent-Grafton Road, President Koroma noted that tree planting is integral to the prosperity of the environment that everybody craves for because it is a national imperative that should be commemorated everywhere during the rainy season.
